Android Emulator License Key on Mac: Where to Find It, Where to Paste It, and Why It Gets Rejected
Updated on · The MACOS EMULATOR team
Your license key unlocks the MACOS EMULATOR launcher on your Mac. You paste it once and forget about it, until the day the launcher asks for it again, the email is nowhere to be found, or a message rejects it. Here is where it arrives, where to find it again, where to paste it, and what each rejection means.
What your key looks like
It starts with “sub_”, contains a dot, and looks the same for a monthly subscription and a lifetime license (the comparison of the two plans covers what sets them apart). It works in two places: in the launcher, to activate the emulator on your Mac, and on the website, to sign in to your customer area. Always copy it in full rather than typing it out: it is case-sensitive, and a single missing character is enough to get it rejected.
Where it arrives after payment
- On screen, right after payment: the thank-you page shows it in full, along with the button to download the app.
- By email, at the same moment, to the address you gave at checkout. Its subject line: “Your MACOS EMULATOR license key”.
Nothing in your inbox? Search for “MACOS EMULATOR” across your whole mailbox, spam folder included: the email sometimes arrives just fine but gets filed somewhere else.
Finding it later: your customer area
Your key is always in your customer area, on the website. Sign in with your key or with your email address, which then receives a sign-in link valid for 15 minutes.
The License key line shows it as dots, like a password. That is on purpose: this page often ends up in a screen share or a screenshot, and your key is all it takes to activate the emulator on a Mac. On the right, two icons:
- the eye, “Show the key”, to read it in full, then “Hide the key” to hide it again;
- “Copy the key”, which copies it without showing it, with a check mark to confirm: the usual way to get it into the launcher.
Lost your key and cannot sign in?
Under the sign-in form, “Lost your key?”: enter your email address, then click “Email me my key”. You get the same key back, not a new one. The page gives the same answer whether the address is known or not: if nothing arrives, check that it is the one you used at checkout. Still nothing? “Open a ticket” or “Message us on Telegram”, on the same page: support can send your key again.
Where to paste it in the launcher
The launcher asks for your key the first time you click “Install” or “Play”, in the “Subscription required” window: paste it under “Already subscribed? Paste your license key”, then click “Validate”. It has the server check the key and only saves it once the reply has arrived, so you need a connection, as the guide to using the emulator offline explains.
No key at hand? The “Where’s my key?” link, at the bottom of the same window, opens your customer area in your browser.
When the launcher rejects it
The window then shows a message under its title. Each one has its own fix:
- “That license key isn’t valid. Check it and try again.” The pasted key is incomplete or was typed by hand: copy it again with “Copy the key”, in your customer area. On the website, the same case shows “Invalid license key”.
- “That subscription isn’t active. Subscribe or renew to play.” The key is fine, the subscription no longer is: a late payment, or a canceled subscription. Your customer area shows the status and the matching button, “Pay now” or “Resubscribe”.
- “This license is already active on another Mac.” One license covers one Mac: the guide to switching Macs with an emulator explains how to free up the seat with “Switch Mac”.
- “Too many attempts”. The server received too many tries in a short time: wait a moment, then click “Validate” just once.
Why the launcher asks for it again
- After a reinstall: the key lives in the folder that Uninstall erases (the guide to uninstalling an Android emulator details what goes). It stays valid and your Mac keeps its seat: copy it again.
- After “Sign out”, in Settings, on the “Subscription” card: that button removes the key from this Mac, and nothing else.
- After “Resubscribe”, once a subscription has been canceled: the new subscription comes with a new key, sent by email.
One case looks like these without being one: “Subscription required” when you click “Play” after more than 72 hours without a connection. Your key is still saved: reconnect the Mac, then Settings, the “Subscription” card, “Re-check”.
Keep it to yourself
Your key is all it takes to activate the emulator on a Mac. Do not post it anywhere, and do not leave it readable in a screenshot or a screen share. It does not change when you switch Macs: a new key only comes with a new purchase, a resubscription or a lifetime license.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my emulator license key after buying?
On the page shown after payment, and by email, with the subject line “Your MACOS EMULATOR license key”. After that, in your customer area: “Copy the key”.
I never received the email with my license key. What should I do?
Search for “MACOS EMULATOR” across your whole mailbox, spam folder included. Otherwise, “Lost your key?”, in your customer area, sends it again to the address used at checkout; as a last resort, open a ticket.
Why does the launcher ask for my key again?
After a reinstall, since Uninstall erases the folder where it lives, after “Sign out”, or after a resubscription, which comes with a new key. Copy it again from your customer area.
The launcher says my license key is not valid. Why?
It is incomplete or was typed by hand: copy it again with “Copy the key”. If the message says the subscription is not active, the subscription is the problem, not the key.
Does my key change when I switch Macs?
No. “Switch Mac” frees up the seat without touching your key: you paste the same one on the new Mac.
